Jen Wirth

APPLICATION ENGINEER

Jen is an application engineer with a background in high-tech low-touch behavioral research. She enjoys building relationships with clients, tinkering with code, and translating between software wizards and program teams. Her guiding star is working to solve interesting problems that inhibit human thriving.

Over the past 10 years, Jen has worn several hats across a variety of non-profits and academic institutions. Jen began her journey as a case worker and life-skills/yoga teacher at a juvenile detention center for boys in Pennsylvania. That experience informed her transition to working as a grant writer and major gifts coordinator for a non-profit providing youth services in her home state of Montana. Together these roles prompted her to learn more about human development and decision making through a masters degree in Human Ecology at UW-Madison, where she studied family dynamics within carceral settings. After graduation, she moved back west to work as a Programs Manager for Huntsman Cancer Institute, in a lab, focused on behavior change and health equity. It was at HCI that Jen realized and cultivated her knack for software tinkering and cross-team translation. She is now using and developing those skills at AidKit as an Application Engineer.

Jen has a dual BS in Economics and French Language from Seattle University. Additionally, she holds a masters in Human Ecology from University of Wisconsin- Madison.

Outside of Work

When she is off the clock, Jen can be found exploring in the mountains by ski, bike, or on foot. She particularly loves backcountry skiing with her dog, Dahlia. Jen also loves nesting into her home by building furniture, painting, and sewing.
