Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 19, 2025

Introduction

This policy applies to all AidKit websites and services that link to it. It explains how we use cookies, pixels, SDKs, tags, and similar technologies (collectively “cookies”) and how you can control them.

We follow a consent-first approach everywhere: non-essential cookies (like analytics or marketing) stay off unless you choose to allow them. This approach also meets the requirements of privacy laws in the EU, UK, U.S., and other regions.

Policy

AidKit believes in transparency about collection and use of data. This policy provides information about how and when AidKit uses cookies for these purposes. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings in our Privacy Statement.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small unique data files placed on your device by your browser.  They help us remember your preferences to tailor your experience, keep things running smoothly and understand how you interact with our content. Some cookies last only while your browser is open (session cookies). Others may stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them (persistent cookies).

We also use similar technologies like:

  • Pixels: tiny pieces of code that register when a page or email is opened.
  • SDKs (software development kits): bits of code used in apps and web tools to add features like analytics.
  • Tags: snippets of code that help us load and manage other tools.

Together, we just call these “cookies” for simplicity.

Does AidKit use cookies?

Yes. AidKit uses a mix of first-party and third-party cookies. Some are essential for our site to work. Others (like analytics or marketing tools) are optional and only load if you say yes. Some cookies last only while your browser is open (session cookies). Others may stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them (persistent cookies).

How AidKit uses cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Run the site (logging in, keeping sessions secure, storing your preferences).
  • Measure performance (see which pages are useful, improve content).
  • Support marketing (ads, personalization, and—if you allow it—contact-level identification so we know which organizations are engaging with our content).

Cookies also make your interactions faster and more secure.

Categories of Cookie we Use use

  • Strictly Necessary cookies (always on) keep the site secure and running.
  • Analytics cookies (optional) help us understand usage and improve the site.
  • Marketing & Identity Tracking cookies (optional) support ads, personalization, and—if you explicitly consent —enable contact-level identification by approved providers.

  • Google Search Console — tracks how our site appears in search results (does not set visitor cookies).

We update this list as our tools change. For details about the cookies and technologies these vendors use (including duration and data collected), see the Appendix A: Cookie & Similar Technologies

How are cookies used for advertising purposes?

Some cookies and pixels help us show ads to people who might be interested in AidKit and measure whether those ads work. In certain U.S. states, this may be considered a “share” of personal information for targeted advertising. You may opt out anytime via Cookie Preferences, or Your Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share in our footer, or by sending a recognized opt-out signal like Global Privacy Control (GPC) from your browser.

What can you do if you don't want cookies to be set or want them to be removed?

You’re in control:

  • Manage choices anytime in our Cookie Preferences (link in footer).
  • Adjust settings in your browser to block or delete cookies.
  • Use Your Privacy Choices to turn off Marketing & Identity Tracking.
  • If you turn off non-essential cookies, the core site still works; analytics and personalization may be limited.

Please note, blocking categories may impact your experience on our website.

Does AidKit respond to Do Not Track Signals?

Older Do Not Track (DNT) signals aren’t widely used and we don’t respond to them.

We do, however, honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other recognized universal opt-out signals where required by law. If your browser sends one, we’ll treat it as an opt-out of targeted advertising and sharing for that browser.

Regional Compliance:

  • EU/UK: Consent-first under GDPR
  • US: Opt out rights under CPRA/CPA/Ets; GPC honored

Updates

We may update this Cookies Policy as our practices or laws change. The “Effective date” at the top shows the latest version.

Appendix A: Cookie & Similar Technologies

These tables list the cookies and similar tools (pixels, SDKs, tags) we use, grouped by category. For each, we explain the purpose in plain language, give examples of the data collected, note how long cookies usually last, and link to the vendor’s policy for more detail.

Strictly Necessary Cookies (always on)

These are the cookies that keep our website running. They handle things like logging you in, keeping your session secure, and remembering your cookie settings. You can block them in your browser, but if you do, parts of the site may not work as expected. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies you.

Analytics Cookies (optional)

We use analytics cookies to understand how people use our site—what pages are popular, how people move around, and where we can improve. This helps us make the site more useful and reliable. If you turn these off, we won’t be able to see how our site is performing, but the site will still function.

We use a tag manager to deploy other cookies and tags based on your consent choices. It doesn’t track by itself.

Third-Party Website Cookies

Sometimes you may be directed to other websites (for example, to apply for a role, surveys, make a payment, or view content hosted on those sites such as a news article or an embedded video). Those sites may set their own cookies. We don’t control those and recommend checking their cookie notices.

How To Control and Delete Cookies

You’re in charge of your cookie choices:

  • Use our Cookie Preferences link in the footer to manage or withdraw consent anytime.
  • Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies  (see Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge help pages).
  • If you clear cookies, data collected before you changed your settings may still be used, but we’ll stop collecting new data from any disabled cookies.
