DENVER, CO – Sept 17, 2025 – AidKit, a Public Benefit Corporation that helps government agencies and nonprofits administer aid programs effectively and transparently, today announced it has won the 2025 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence, earning a Technology Team of the Year award in the Government Technology category.
The award recognizes AidKit’s role in the response to the devastating January 2025 wildfires. AidKit partnered with the City and County of Los Angeles to rapidly launch the LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds. AidKit’s Emergency & Disaster Response platform, deployed in just over two weeks, enabled fast, secure and equitable financial aid distribution to thousands of displaced workers, small businesses and nonprofits.
“Our government partners need technology they can rely on to meet people’s needs quickly and fairly after a disaster,” said Brittany Christenson, CEO of AidKit. “This award affirms what we’ve seen on the ground in Los Angeles—that relief can be delivered with accuracy, speed and dignity. At AidKit, we’re proving that technology can reduce barriers, strengthen trust, and ensure communities get the support they deserve when it matters most.”
AidKit’s platform’s innovative features, including post-disaster geo-targeting, advanced fraud detection, real-time reporting, multilingual support, and flexible payment options, helped LA County streamline access to relief without compromising transparency or compliance. The technology team, led by Devin Nguyen and Jennifer Wirth with expert coordination by Senior Program Manager Breanna Christopher, ensured that deployment was not only technically sound but also human centered, balancing speed with compassion during a time of crisis.
AidKit is a Public Benefit Corporation and recently announced its certification as a B Corporation (B Corp), which verifies a company meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency across operations. AidKit’s B Corp certification reflects its work to empower frontline organizations, streamline equitable aid distribution and ensure that every dollar of assistance reaches the people who need it most.
The Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence recognize the remarkable achievements of individuals, teams and organizations that are shaping the future of technology across all industry sectors. More than 1,500 nominations from organizations of all sizes in 36 nations and territories were submitted this year for a wide range of tech-related categories. More than 160 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s honorees.
